Chained to Innocence

I have a kink meme response pwp in The Eagle fandom that needs a quick beta, if anyone's available. It's set in the same 'verse as "The Cares of Tomorrow," Esca/Marcus, NC-17, 1200 words, and there's bdsm and (a discussion of) bloodplay.

Got my MRI over with. Of course, I now have to wait over a month to find out the results. Figures. Fingers crossed that it's a normal abnormality, though. The last thing I want is another drug, one that even the doc thinks might end up fucking with my system.

That said, the MRI itself was kinda fun. It was like an hour and a half meditation session where my monkey brain was allowed to go wild, featuring a bed of pillows instead of circulation-crushing floor.

Not that all of that thinking time really helped with my current plot predicament.

Then again, if my writing had no dilemnas, then I'd be dreaming, now wouldn't I? After all, writing is a giant process of getting stuck and unstuck. I've even started bemoaning my current plot dilemnas to my wife, and then getting huffy when she's not so sympathetic that her heart's visibly bleeding in front of me.

Ah, writing. How I've missed you (I think).

Lately I've been reading and bookmarking a lot of fics, since my Summer of Reading starts up soon and I want to be prepared. The problem is that I can't seem to download anything from AO3, and haven't been able to for almost two months.

Do y'all know what's going on with AO3's downloading option?

At first I tried waiting it out, because I thought that maybe it was just me (similar to how my netbook hates facebook and youtube). But I've seen other people on my flist notice the same problem, and waiting hasn't helped. I tried looking around the few AO3 comms and news places that I know about, but I haven't managed to find anything relevent.

It's really frustrating, because one of the main reasons I go to AO3 over LJ/DW/other archives is because the downloading option makes it easier to take fics along with me instead of being stuck at the computer. I mean, sure, I can still manage to save fics to my ereader through different means, but it takes longer and I'd prefer to be able to avoid the tedium. So, erm, help?

16. What are you glad you did but haven't really had a chance to post about?

I joined a gym and have been jogging again, which is nice. I'm using the treadmill so that I can read on my e-reader while exercising. Add my ear plugs to the equation and things are awesome.

I also bought a reclining love seat to replace our broken futon. It arrives tomorrow, and I'm super excited. Abby's had that futon for nine years, and we've had it for as long as we've been together. It's nice to get something else, and something that's sort of a symbol of the mixing of our lives - it has the modern feel that Abby likes, and the reclining option that I like/need (my circulation sucks).
