My recent lack of spoons means that I've fallen behind on the 3W4DW meme. Eek! So I'm going to try to catch up in this post.

7. What is your favorite community on Dreamwidth?

Wow, it's hard to pick just one, because there are so many awesome communities on DW.

Even though I've never posted there myself, I guess I'd say that my favorite community is fucking_meds. I check it whenever I develop a side effect to see if it's a common one, or if it might be something else that's wrong. I also love that it gives people a place to complain about their medications without ableist assholes spouting off.


8. What community do you wish was more active?

so_sue_me. I'd particularly love to see more femslash posted. :)

5. How about [telling us what you do] when you're not on the computer?

I watch a lot of television and read. Now that I have Netflix, I'm trying to catch up on all of the awesome shows that were big in fandom, but that I couldn't enjoy when they aired b/c I didn't have cable or internet. And now that I have my e-reader I'm working to catch up on all of the epic fic that I missed out on because my laptop made it harder for me to focus on longform stories.

Occassionally I'll play video games. I have a Wii and a PS2, so I play a lot of games on those. They're really expensive though (even if PS2 & GC game prices have come down dramatically), so I don't have a whole lot of them. Currently I'm digging playing DDR, Just Dance 2, Zumba, and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. :D

Oh, and I'm a paper journaling geek. I buy fancy pens for it, and am pleased to have one for almost every mood (I even have aromatherapy pens). I also have a lot of stickers, and am always looking for more. When Abs and I go to the craft store, I always get lost in the scrapbooking and journaling section, lols. I use the journals and accoutrements for writing fic longhand, too, if I feel like it. They can really help to set the mood, particularly if I'm just playing around with a piece to see where it'll go.

1. Why did you sign up for Dreamwidth?

Hm. TBH, I don't quite remember. I think it had to do with the fact that a lot of great meta writers were here at the time. I remember hearing that it was very fandom-friendly, and I wanted to get involved. I casually got an invite code, but it wasn't until I saw all of the amazing disability friendly comms here and the awesome lengths that DW goes to in order to protect their users that I realized this was the right place for me.

Add to that the whole kerfuffle with LJ allowing FB and Twitter posting, and suddenly I just felt safer and more at home here. :)


2. Why did you choose your journal name?

Like a lot of other people, it was my LJ name. I picked it on LJ because it was a slightly different version of my original LJ name (which is no longer mine), romanticpuck. The Puck part is because that was the first role I've ever played, and to this day it remains my favorite. Robin Goodfellow is kickass.

The original part is because my school later did another production which originally included Puck (his role was later written out), and I wasn't going to be allowed to play the role so that others would have a chance at it. So I was the original Puck.

I've been trying to figure out how to make this post, but no matter how hard I try, I can't come up with the right wording. After taking some time to think about it, I've decided that I'm going to spend a year without posting my writing (fanfic or original) online.

I'm still going to be around, though. I'll still be reading, commenting, ranting, reccing, and doing everything else as often as I'm able. I'm just not going to be posting my fic. In a year I think I'll review things, and see where I'm at.

Because the decision is still too fresh and personal, I'm turning off comments to this post. Love you all!

My wife made me a new header for my DW. She used some photos I loved, and one of my favorite quotes. The font for my name also matches my website's font, which is kickass. She even managed to include one of my favorite quotes. I love it like breathing; it makes me feel so happy and so much more at home on my DW, somehow. :)

It's a multi-fandom comment fic meme, where the only requirement is that the stories be happy/cheerful in nature (and that can be as subjective as someone wants it to be).

AFAIK it's only on LJ, which is a bummer, but it still promises to be a lot of fun. (Besides, I need someone to fill my Sherlock request.) :D
